HELPING VETERANS FIND THEIR WAY HOME

- TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE REAL DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF HOMELESS VETS ACROSS THE USA -

NO VETERAN SHOULD FACE LIFE’S CHALLENGES ALONE.

At Homeward Bound Vets, we believe that no veteran should face life’s challenges alone. Founded on the principles of service, respect, and camaraderie, we are a veteran-led organization dedicated to supporting those who’ve worn the uniform. Our mission is simple: to stand beside our fellow veterans, offering guidance, resources, and hands-on assistance as they navigate the path from military to civilian life. Whether it’s securing vital documentation, addressing immediate needs, or connecting with essential services, we are here to make a lasting difference—one veteran at a time.

TESTIMONIALS

  • Dwight James

"I stayed at a Homeward Bound Veterans location, and it’s hard to put into words how wonderful the experience was. During my time there, I was able to address several medical issues and reconnect with the Veterans Administration. Since then, I’ve had consistent medical appointments through the VA—something that likely wouldn’t have happened without the support I received at Homeward Bound. Being surrounded by other veterans with similar challenges made all the difference. It’s truly been a life-changing experience.

  • Susan

“When I arrived, I was in bad shape. I was dealing with financial issues, legal troubles, and more. Being here has given me the opportunity to navigate the court system, access housing resources, and utilize the programs available to veterans. Thanks to Michael, the executive director, I’ve been able to accomplish everything I needed to move forward. If you’re struggling, please reach out to us. Life on the streets isn’t easy for anyone. If you’re dealing with a drug or alcohol problem, you can do yourself a huge favor by calling Homeward Bound and signing up to live in one of the facilities. Thank you."

Current Residence: Homeward Bound Veterans – Pathfinder House Two, Liberty Lake, WA

“My name is Bobby Jackson. I’m 22 years old and currently living at Homeward Bound Veterans – Pathfinder House Two in Liberty Lake, WA. On April 3rd, 2025, I was transferred to a psychiatric facility due to a fear-induced psychosis related to drug use. From there, I was moved to the ABHS rehabilitation facility, where I stayed for just over a month to focus on my recovery and begin the next steps toward stability.

Since moving into Pathfinder House Two, I’ve found a peaceful, structured, and supportive environment that has been essential to my healing. My housemate and I are respectful of one another and committed to sobriety. We don’t argue or interfere in each other’s space, which allows for a calm, focused home life. The Liberty Lake neighborhood adds to this peace—whether I’m walking, playing ball, or just going to the store, being outdoors here is always refreshing and grounding.

Homeward Bound Veterans has been a major source of support in my recovery. They’ve helped me actively search for employment, access veteran assistance through the VA hospital, and stay connected to recovery through regular 12-step meetings. These resources have given me structure, motivation, and a renewed sense of hope.

I’ve even recommended this transitional home to other veteran friends of mine because it’s truly the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. This home, and the people supporting it, have made it possible for me to stay sober, find stability, and start building a better life.

Although I’m currently unemployed, I am fully committed to continuing this progress—staying sober, finding meaningful work, and living a healthy, productive life. I’m deeply grateful for everything Homeward Bound Veterans has done for me.”

  • Russell

“My name is Russell. I spent many months homeless and even contemplated suicide. Homeward Bound Veterans has been a life-changing experience for me. They've helped me find work, stay clean and sober, and live in a structured, supportive environment.

They also connected me with veteran services that I didn't know were available.

After nearly five years on the streets, I finally feel like I have purpos tability, and hope.

    Ask anything”
